We found this tiny kitten sitting alone outside, her eyes sealed shut from an infection, and she was covered in fleas. We named her Gingham and—heartbreakingly—she’s one of the lucky ones. Several kittens found at that same site didn’t survive. In a Brooklyn basement nearby, we found another little survivor—Wocket, the runt of her litter and the only one to make it. Both kittens needed urgent medical care, and thanks to your support, they got it. Soon, they’ll head to foster to continue their journey. Thousands of kittens are born on NYC streets every kitten season—and most won’t survive without intervention.
