This was one of the most difficult rescues we’ve ever taken on. Four kittens trapped in a narrow crack between two Brooklyn buildings – hidden behind decades of trash. To get them out, we’d have to go in. Mom cats choose difficult spots on purpose – they are protected, away from people, dogs, or cars. And she is our first priority, because there’s no point rescuing kittens if you leave behind the one who keeps making them. But mom is also the map. Watch closely, and she’ll show you where the kittens are. We could only access this space for a few hours, and these kitten hadn’t been introduced to solid food yet, so we couldn’t just leave tasty treats nearby and wait for them to come out.
